Victoria's Culture Capital
Voted as the most livable city in the world consecutively six years in a row makes Melbourne truly unique. Rich with history, culture and a kaleidoscope of migrants this city has much to celebrate. The heritage race around the city will let you discover the rich diversity of culture, architecture heritage, hidden old shops filled with history and how the love of good coffee has given Melbourne such a strong coffee culture.
Why Heritage Race?
Champion local and preserve heritage stories
Forge close ties with local communities
Raise funds for local charities
Raise awareness of local heritage among travel professionals and locals
Welcome to The Heritage Race
The Heritage Race is a travel industry-led event that serves two purposes – to uncover local stories about places and to raise funds for the underprivileged, vulnerable elderly and homeless.
The race – aimed at uncovering 12-20 local stories in 120 minutes anywhere – can be organised by local travel industry champions around the region – wherever there are people who wish to make a difference.
The Heritage Race can be adapted to any local environment or theme, and support any local charity identified by local organizers. It is this which makes it unique and scalable.
The Heritage Race is owned by Yeoh Siew Hoon, travel industry editor and commentator.
